2011 Eureka! Fellow Regina Maduell
I am an Adult Services Librarian at the Folsom Public Library. I am a jack-of-all-trades, as the library budget shrinks, my job description expands. Besides covering both the adult and youth information desks, I am responsible for adult fiction collection development, coordinating adult programing, maintaining our website and social media, processing ILLs, and when necessary performing circulation duties.
I have a B.A. in English and earned my MLIS from SJSU in 2008. I started volunteering in the mid-90s in my daughter's school library and eventually that worked into a paid library media tech position. Since then I have worked on two digitization projects at the California Institute for Peruvian Studies and CSU Image Project SJSU School of Art and Design, interned for the San José Public Library King branch, in their Teen department, worked at Holt-Atherton Special Collections University of the Pacific, and am currently working at a public library.
I enjoy making a nice golf shot, gardening, and sharing a "good" book.
The Eureka! Leadership Program provides an opportunity for me to get out of my comfort zone. I look forward to improving my leadership skills, learning organizational strategies, and networking with colleagues.
