2011 Eureka! Fellow Silvia Cisneros

silvia cisnerosMy name is Silvia Cisneros, a Youth Services Senior Librarian at the Santa Ana Public Library. I began working at this library since 2002, and have enjoyed every minute of it! My duties are to plan and conduct our weekly Spanish Storytime, our Bilingual Parent Workshops and to evaluate our weekly Beginning and Advance Computer Workshops.  I love developing programs and events and promoting the library in the community. Additionally, I am the subject specialist for the entire children’s Spanish Collection, which has given me the opportunity to attend the Guadalajara International Book Fair for three consecutive years and I also oversee the operations of two Learning Centers, one at our main library and one in our Newhope branch.

My professional affiliations include memberships in ALA and REFORMA The National Association to Promote Library and Information Services to Latinos and the Spanish-Speaking.   I am currently the President of Orange County REFORMA Chapter and I also serve in the Technology and Programming Committees.

I consider myself enthusiastic, creative, and hard-working. During my free time, I love to read, dance and listen to music. I am very excited to be participating in the Eureka! Leadership Institute and look forward to meeting and learning from all of my colleagues and mentors.
