2012 Eureka Fellow: Clio Hathaway

Clio HathawayHi, everyone! I’m Clio, and my husband and I relocated to California from Pennsylvania in February 2010. I started working for the Hayward Public Library in May 2010. As the Youth Services Manager, I’m responsible for the supervision and management of the Youth Services Division, and also serve as a member of the Library and Community Services management team. Prior to my move, I spent almost 10 years at Martin Library in York, PA. I had several positions there, but my favorite was my last - I had the great good fortune to serve as the first Teen Services Librarian from 2005 until I left in 2009. I’ve served on several state and national committees for the Pennsylvania Library Association, California Library Association, and YALSA.

Outside of work, my primary hobbies are making jewelry, travel (my goal is to visit every State in the US), and (of course) reading. In PA, I volunteered for the SPCA, and in CA, I served as a member of the Board of the Rainbow Women’s Chorus. The main reason I wanted to be part of the Eureka program is to gain more familiarity with the CA library community, and to have the opportunity to meet and work with people who I might otherwise never encounter.
