2012 Eureka Fellow: Dolly Moehrle
My name is Dolly Moehrle. I work as the Assistant to the City Librarian at the City of Camarillo Public Library, and I do a little bit of everything—from cataloging to grant writing, billings to event programming. (Glowing praise for my work: “Your desk is a mess, but you’re a genius!”) The Eureka! Leadership institute offers me the chance to more fully develop my skills as a librarian and a leader, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to work on a project that will enrich my community.
Prior to my current job, I worked at the Ojai branch of the Ventura County Library. Ojai is a unique community and no two days were ever the same. I received my MLIS in May 2012 from San Jose State University and my BA in Fiction Writing in 2005 from Columbia College Chicago. Prior to my career in libraries I was a “story analyst” in the film industry, which means I read scripts and wrote mean things about them.
I live in Ventura, and I like to support my cat on his quest to knock everything in my apartment over at least once. I play guitar poorly and clarinet squeakily, and my favorite Star Trek captain is Sisko.
