2012 Eureka Fellow: Jennifer Love

Jennifer LoveI work at the County of Los Angeles Public Library as a Cataloger at our headquarters in Downey, California. Recently, I have been doing a significant amount of grant writing in support of our local cultural heritage materials. Our cataloging team is also starting to prepare for RDA (Resource Description and Access) implementation next year. My professional activities include participation in the County’s ET3 (Emerging Technology Think Tank) and Digitization Steering Committee.

In addition to cataloging, I have experience in archives and special libraries, and in providing reference services to both adults and children. In my pre-Librarian life I was an Administrative Assistant for the non-profit Homeless Children’s Network in San Francisco, a Book-buyer for the Books Inc. Burlingame store, and an avid traveler.

I live with my husband and son in Long Beach, California. We spend most of our time at parks, farmer’s markets, with family, and exploring the many activities available in Southern California.

I am very excited to attend the Eureka! Leadership Institute! I hope to gain leadership skills, confidence, and learn from the other Eureka! Fellows and mentors.
