2009 Eureka! Leadership Institute: Yuri Kenney

yuri kenneyI came from Hawaii to work for the County of Los Angeles Public Library, and now I'm fortunate to be the Community Library Manager of the Castaic Library, one of the County's newest libraries. We're situated at the foot of the mountains in the north part of Los Angeles County and when the weather is nice we can enjoy a picnic lunch at Castaic Lake. I'm a graduate of University of Hawaii School of Library and Information Science, and before I came to Los Angeles I was a trainer and circulation supervisor for the University's second largest library. I live with a Bengal cat who shares my love of swimming and one other cat who, though she was (like me) born in Hawaii, does not much care for water at all.

I am looking forward to developing my goal setting and organizational abilities at the Eureka Institute, as well as meeting new colleagues and collaborators. I hope to expand my interest and experience with training library workers into a viable project that will enrich my professional life and enhance the service we provide to our customers.
